Safe Sport

The OGSA takes the safety of all our participants very seriously. As discussed at our Annual general Meeting, in 2022 we initiated a partnership with ITP Sport on a league-wide Safe Sport Initiative.

Safe Sport is newer body of work in sport across the Canadian landscape. Safe Sport is the commitment to put in all efforts possible to prevent maltreatment and abuse in sport. To this end, ITP Sport & Recreation will support us in the OGSA’s leadership in this space and set all of us up for success.

Today, we are very proud to share we are taking further steps forward to ensure we are providing a healthy and safe softball environment. We also recognize that we do not want to create this in a silo, as parents and athletes’ feedback and insights are vital to support our efforts.

Attached below are two separate (10 min) surveys that ITP Sport would be very grateful to you to fill out so they can further understand the needs of our participants.

👉Please have all athletes in your family 14+ fill out the athlete survey and parents please fill out the parent survey by no later than March 25, 2023. 

Based on the sensitivity of the topic, the athlete survey is only for 14+.

All surveys are completely confidential and anonymous and no specific details that could hinder anonymity are shared with the OGSA.
